An open cuff should be opened as little as possible. Gold work-hardens: every flex moves the grain of the metal slightly, and a band bent at the same spot day after day will eventually become brittle there. What a tubogas construction does about this is spread one opening across many turns of coiled ribbon, so no single point takes the whole bend.

The practical instruction follows from the mechanics. Spread it once at the widest part of the hand, let it close back above the wrist bone, and leave it alone. It does not have to be reopened to come off the way a clasped bangle has to be unfastened, and it will hold its round for years provided it is not worked repeatedly out of habit.

The end caps are the other half of the structure. A coiled ribbon has two raw ends, and those ends are where the leverage lands when the cuff is spread, so capping them puts solid material exactly where the band is weakest. The caps also give the prong-set round diamonds a rigid seat to be built on, which a length of coil could never provide.

The band runs 3.9mm. Solid 14K yellow gold, 7.8 grams, with the DEEVE lifetime warranty.

Buying Guide

How to Choose a Gold Bracelet

Start with the style: a diamond tennis bracelet for a continuous line of brilliance, a Cuban or chain link for everyday structure, or a bangle or cuff for clean, sculptural stacking. Then match width to wrist — 3–6mm reads refined on slimmer wrists, 7–11mm makes a statement on larger ones — and check fit: most wrists suit a standard 7-inch length, with 7.5 inches for a looser drape. Solid 14K gold handles daily flexing and contact better than softer, higher-karat alloys.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Where are the diamonds set?

Prong-set round diamonds sit in the end caps of the Tubogas band.

Are these diamonds natural or lab-grown?

Natural diamonds, conflict-free and responsibly sourced.

How wide is the band?

3.90 mm, at 7.8 grams in solid 14K yellow gold.

How does it fasten?

It does not — the Tubogas band is a flexible cuff, eased open to slip on.

What is Tubogas?

A gas-pipe weave: gold strips coiled around a form with no solder, so the band flexes as one smooth tube.

How does it differ from the round end Tubogas cuff?

Both are 3.90 mm Tubogas cuffs with diamond ends; this one finishes in flat end caps and carries 7.8 grams against 8.2.
