A diamond charm choker in solid 14K yellow or white gold with bezel-set natural diamonds totaling 0.49 ct, I–J (near-colorless) and I2–I3 (included), on an adjustable 16–18 inch bead chain. Bezel is the setting to reach for when a stone is going to swing. A rim of gold wrapped around the girdle of the diamond presents no prong tips at all, so a charm that spends the day moving against a sweater, a scarf, or a seatbelt has nothing to catch with. The girdle, the thinnest edge on any cut stone, ends up covered rather than exposed.

The charms carry 0.49 total carats of round diamonds, divided among them rather than gathered into one stone. Divided weight reads differently across the neck: small stones at intervals cover more ground than a single stone of the same total, and because each hangs at its own angle they are never all dark at once.

The chain is beaded, and that pairing is deliberate. Small spheres read as texture rather than as links, and texture is the kindest background to put behind a row of bright circles because there are no straight lines in it competing with them. It adjusts from 16 to 18 inches: at 16 the charms sit above a crew neckline, at 18 they fall onto it.
