The Guide

How to Choose an Initial Necklace

Start with the letter: a first initial, your own or a loved one's, or a family-name initial a couple can share. Then decide how it will be worn. On its own, the 18-inch chain settles just below the collarbone; to layer, pair it with a plain chain about two inches shorter or longer so the letter stays clear. To wear several initials together, every letter here is cut in the same block style, so two or three read as one set.

About this collection

An initial necklace puts a single letter at the collarbone: your own, a partner's or a child's. Every DEEVE initial is a polished block letter in solid 14K yellow gold, about 1.4 to 2.1 grams, and arrives on an 18-inch chain with a lobster clasp, ready to wear. Free worldwide shipping, with delivery in 5–7 business days.

The Block Letter

Each letter is cut in the same clean block style and polished on the front, so the outline of the letter carries the piece, with no stones and no engraving. The chain runs through the top of the letter instead of a separate loop, which keeps the initial close and level. Weight follows the shape: the slim I is about 1.4 grams, while the B and the W, with more gold in their curves and angles, are about 2.1 grams.

Length and Layering

Eighteen inches settles just below the collarbone, where an initial is easy to see. Because every letter shares one style, two or three initials can be worn together for a family, and a single letter layers well with a plain chain a couple of inches shorter or longer. The size guide has a full length reference.

Choosing a Letter

Choose a first initial, your own or a loved one's, or a family-name initial that a couple or a whole family can share. It is a simple gift that suits any age, and the lifetime warranty covers both the letter and the chain.
