Petals curve, and stones set into a curved surface stop agreeing about where the light is. Each diamond on a flower head sits on its own small slope, tilted a few degrees off its neighbors, so rather than one plane of stones flashing in unison the pendant returns light from several directions at the same time. Anything asymmetric has to be weighted or bailed carefully or it will turn to one side and spend the day there.
