A 0.66 cttw swirl halo diamond engagement ring in solid 14K white gold, its natural diamonds led by a 0.50 ct center stone, I (near-colorless) in color and SI2 (slightly included) in clarity. The two ends of this band never meet. A bypass shank passes itself, one arm curving up and around the center from below and the other from above, crossing rather than joining at the top. There is no seam and no line of symmetry at the front, which is why the ring looks different from each side of the hand.
It only works because the band is thin. At 1.3mm there is enough metal to hold the curve and little enough for the swirl to read as a drawn line rather than a knot. That fineness is honest about what it is. This is a delicate ring and it wants to be treated as one, which is also why the halo sits where the two arms brace it.
