A herringbone does not look like a chain at all from a step away. Its short, flat links are laid in a tight V so the surface reads as one smooth ribbon of metal, and in 14K white gold that ribbon has a cool, mirror-like quality that suits a bare neckline or an open collar.
This Super Flex version is 2.80mm wide and light: 3.7 g at 16 inches and 4.2 g at 18. It is the delicate end of the style, made to lie close against the skin rather than stand out from it.
Sixteen inches sits high, near the base of the neck; eighteen settles just below it. Either one layers above a longer chain, and both look their best worn on their own over bare skin.
A lobster clasp closes it. Store it flat between wears so the links keep their shape, and the DEEVE lifetime warranty covers it.

Caring for a herringbone chain
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Are DEEVE gold chains solid gold or plated?
Solid 14K or 18K gold through every link — never gold-plated, gold-filled, or vermeil. The gold goes all the way through, and white gold's rhodium finish is renewed free under the lifetime warranty, so a DEEVE chain can be worn daily, polished, and repaired for decades.
What is the difference between Cuban, Figaro, Franco, and Mariner chains?
The difference is link architecture. Cuban links are flat, interlocking ovals that form a continuous line; Figaro alternates long and short links for rhythm; Franco weaves a tight V-pattern with a rounded, rope-like profile; Mariner links carry a bar across each oval. At equal width and solid construction, none outranks the others in durability — the choice is visual.
What chain width should I choose?
Narrower gauges read refined and pair well with pendants; mid widths around 4–5 mm hold their own worn alone; wider gauges make the chain the statement. Most DEEVE chains are unisex — width and length, not gender, decide how the piece reads.
What length should a gold chain be?
An 18–20 inch chain sits at the collarbone and is the most versatile length; 22–24 inches falls mid-chest for a longer line; choker lengths sit close to the neck. DEEVE's Jewelry Size Chart Guide includes a full length reference.
Do solid gold chains tarnish?
Solid 14K gold does not tarnish under normal wear. Minor dulling from skin oils is fully reversible with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth — and because the gold runs all the way through, wear never reaches a different metal; white gold's rhodium finish is renewed free under the lifetime warranty.
Can a gold chain be repaired or adjusted?
Yes. Repairs and length adjustments are handled by DEEVE's in-house Ontario workshop, and every chain is covered by the lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
How quickly do DEEVE gold chains ship?
Every chain ships free worldwide with insured express delivery — arriving in 5–7 business days.
