A 4.00mm polished bead chain necklace in solid 14K yellow gold, about 6.7 g at 18 inches. A sphere has no bad angle. Flat and faceted links present surfaces that go dark as the chain turns, but a bead holds one moving highlight wherever it happens to sit, so a bead chain has no dull side and no wrong way round.

At 4.00mm the beads are large enough to resolve individually across a table, and that is what separates this from a plain polished chain. You see a row of discrete objects, each carrying its own point of light, instead of a continuous glinting line. Eighteen inches of them comes to 6.7 grams.
