There is no clasp on an endless hoop and no hinge either. One end of the tube is drawn down into a slim post, the other end is left open, and the post slides inside where the tube's own spring holds it. The tube has to be hollow and true along its whole length, and the fit at the join has to be tight enough to hold without being so tight that it deforms the opening.
