Semi-Solid Miami Cuban Chain Necklace in 14K Yellow Gold | 7.00mm: metal 14K yellow gold, chain style Miami Cuban link (semi-solid), width 7.00 mm, approx. weight 32.2 g at 22 in, length 22 inches. $7,276.00 USD. Free insured delivery in 5–7 business days, no duties in Canada or the US, 30-day returns and a lifetime warranty.

Seven millimeters is the width at which a Miami Cuban stops sitting quietly at the neck and becomes the piece that is noticed first. The links are flattened and nested so closely that the chain reads as a single ribbon of 14K yellow gold, polished on every face. It is built semi-solid, each link formed with a thick gold wall instead of being drawn from solid wire, so it carries real width without the weight a fully solid chain of this size would have.

It comes in one length, 22 inches, and weighs 32.2 g, which is close to one and a half grams for every inch. That weight is what gives a wide Cuban its drape: the chain falls flat against the chest and holds its line instead of floating.

At 22 inches it sits a little below the collarbone, where it shows clearly over a T-shirt and lies flat inside an open collar. Worn on its own, it needs nothing beside it.

A lobster clasp held between two end caps closes the chain. The same design is also offered in 14K white gold at 24 inches, and like every DEEVE piece it is covered by the DEEVE lifetime warranty.

Buying Guide

Semi-solid, and what the weight tells you

A semi-solid Miami Cuban is built from links formed with a thick gold wall rather than drawn from solid wire. It carries more metal than a hollow chain of the same pattern and less than a fully solid one, which is how a wide Cuban keeps its width at a weight that stays comfortable to wear. To compare any two chains, compare their gram weight at the same length, not their width alone.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is a Miami Cuban link chain?

A Miami Cuban is a Cuban link chain whose oval links are set close and tight, so the chain lies flat as one dense, rounded line. DEEVE's Miami Cuban chains are 14K gold, never plated or filled, from 2.60 to 8.00 mm wide, in yellow, white and two-tone gold.

What is the difference between a solid and a semi-solid Cuban chain?

Construction. A solid Cuban has gold all the way through each link; semi-solid links are formed from thicker-walled gold tube, so the chain carries the width at a lighter weight. Both are 14K gold, never plated or filled. The weight shows it: at 24 inches the 4.0 mm solid chain weighs 29.1 grams and the 4.50 mm semi-solid chain 13.3 grams. Each listing names its build in the title and gives the approximate weight at every length.

What width Cuban link chain should I get?

Choose by how you want it to read. At 2.60 mm a Cuban is a fine everyday chain that layers easily; 4.0 to 5.50 mm holds its own worn alone; 7.00 to 8.00 mm makes the chain the statement. Wider chains are heavier, so the gram weight on each listing is worth reading alongside the width.

Do you carry white gold or two-tone Cuban chains?

Yes. Alongside yellow gold, the semi-solid Miami Cuban comes in 14K white gold at 5.50 and 7.00 mm, and the 8.00 mm pavé-cut Cuban is two-tone: yellow gold with white-gold links faceted to a pavé-like texture, with no stones set.
