A 4.70mm puffed mariner link chain necklace in solid 14K yellow gold, about 10.4 g at 18 inches. Curved metal is stiffer than flat metal of the same thickness, which is why corrugated sheet holds a span that flat sheet cannot. Puffing a mariner link uses that principle. Doming the surface adds rigidity along with volume, so the chain gains bulk without needing extra gold to survive being worn.

The mariner's signature is the bar crossing each oval link.
