A puffed mini clover pendant necklace in 14K yellow gold on an 18-inch cable chain, about 1.9 g. Puffed gold is hollow gold, and hollow is the harder build. Two shells are formed over a die, trimmed until their edges meet exactly, then soldered along a seam that has to be polished back until nobody can find it. What you get is the volume of a solid piece for a fraction of the metal, which is how 1.9 grams becomes a pendant with real presence.

Volume is exactly what a clover needs. Its lobes read as separate domes, each holding a highlight of its own, and the small valleys where they meet give the shape its outline without a line being drawn anywhere. Flatten that same silhouette and it becomes a graphic: still recognizable, no longer an object worth looking at twice.

It hangs on a cable chain, which is the right partner for a rounded pendant. Cable links are round in section, so the chain continues the curve of the clover instead of setting a hard flat edge against it.
