A 1.10 cttw multi-row pavé round diamond engagement ring in solid 14K white gold, its natural diamonds led by a 0.96 ct center stone, I (near-colorless) in color and I1 (included) in clarity. Four pairs of tips rather than four single posts: the argument for a double prong is redundancy. Prongs wear. Two decades of contact with fabric and countertops thins a tip until it can no longer hold, and a single prong that fails lets the stone shift straight away. When one tip of a pair goes, its partner is still on the same corner of the diamond, which buys the time it takes to notice.

The look follows from the mechanics. Two narrow tips cover less of the crown than one broad prong of equivalent strength, so more of the stone stays visible from above.

Beneath it, the band carries 44 pave-set diamonds weighing 0.14 carat between them, laid in more than one row across the width. Stones that small do not read as individual points.
