Worn with its heart carabiner clasp at the front, this paperclip chain necklace in solid 14K yellow gold weighs about 3.9 g at 18 inches. The hard part of a heart in gold is the notch at the top. A polishing wheel is a curved surface and cannot reach cleanly into a tight interior angle: push it in and the cleft rounds off, keep it out and the cleft stays dull.
